Reclaiming Time for What Matters Most

I used to feel I had to mark everything and provide feedback on every piece of work myself. Now, I have a helper. AI handles the heavy lifting, freeing me up to focus on what matters most.

Cohort 1. Frontier Class educators. The programme begins.

From the founder

Incredible educators are change agents.

I started Mindjoy because of a study that's haunted me for years — and a question inside it that almost everyone has misread.

In 1984, Benjamin Bloom published a finding that one-on-one tutoring produces two standard deviations of learning improvement over a conventional classroom. The 50th percentile becoming the 98th. He called it the Two Sigma Problem.

Every technologist since has read that and heard: “Replace the classroom with AI tutors.”

But here's what they missed — and what you only notice if you've actually been a teacher: most people are social learners. The classroom isn't a bug. It's the mechanism. Students learn through discussion, through watching a peer figure something out, through making their thinking visible and being changed by what comes back.

“The 2 Sigma Problem: The Search for Methods of Group Instruction as Effective as One-to-One Tutoring.”

— Benjamin Bloom, 1984

Bloom's actual question — the title of the paper — was: “How do we make group instruction as effective as one-to-one tutoring?” Not how do we replace the group. How do we make it better, from the inside.

The answer is an educator who has the intelligence of a personal tutor about every student in the room, in real time. That's what Mindjoy builds for. Not AI that replaces the teacher. AI that makes the teacher the most powerful version of themselves they've ever been.

The Frontier Class is how we find the educators who already understand this — and fund them to build what comes next.

If that's you — or someone you know — put a name forward.

The founding belief

The classroom has always been
the unit of change.

Not because of its walls. Because of the people in it.

The constraint on scaling great education has never been content — content is everywhere. The constraint is great educators. There aren't enough of them, and until now, each one could only ever reach the students in their room.

Every platform promises to fix that by removing the teacher from the equation. We think that's exactly backwards.

Most people are social learners. The classroom doesn't need to be replaced. It needs to be made as powerful as a one-on-one tutoring relationship — by giving the teacher the intelligence to reach every student in the room, personally, in real time.

Automation invisible.

Humanation everywhere.

It's about the people. Not the technology. AI's job, when it's working, is to disappear and leave behind a more present, more powerful educator.
